What Is All-on-4?

It’s a combination of a denture and dental implant, lending the support of implant fixtures to a full denture restoration. It provides the same support as a full denture, enabling patients to chew and speak with confidence again. With the help of the implants, the patient’s jawbone can regenerate and heal. Since the denture is fixed, there’s no risk of the device shifting out of place or needing an adhesive to stay in place.

We typically reserve this treatment for patients who are currently missing a full arch of teeth or are at risk for losing that many teeth.

This way, patients can get back to eating the food they love and speaking normally again. Keep in mind that there may be a few prerequisites needed before you can progress with the treatment.

“What Is A Graftless Procedure?”

Nobel Biocare highlights All-on-4 as a treatment that doesn’t need a bone graft to be placed (which can often be the case for individual dental implants). The implants can be placed at an angle in order to reach more dense bone and be secured, a technique that can’t be done with individual dental implants.

How Does It Work?

Four implant fixtures are placed into the bottom or top arch of your smile at strategic points. After this placement, a full denture is placed over the fixtures and screwed into place. You have a complete smile again!

What’s even more convenient about this device is that it doesn’t require any special tools or cleaning utensils to keep clean. Removable dentures have to be scrubbed daily and soaked in a cleaning solution, but this isn’t the case with All-on-4. Instead, patients can simply brush their All-on-4 device like they would their natural teeth.
